A studio portrait of Calvin Coolidge mounted on a cardstock backer, signed “To Ewing Sadler with regards, Calvin Coolidge” in black fountain pen, the backer is marked “Spence Studio, Northampton, Massachusetts”, the photograph measuring 165 mm (w) x 115 mm (l), with staining particularly on the right side of the cardstock backer from moisture, in overall near very fine condition.

Footnote: Calvin Coolidge (July 4th, 1872 - January 5th, 1933) was an American attorney and politician who served as the 30th president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. He was known for his support of racial equality during a period of heightened racial tensions in the United States, and is highly praised by advocates of smaller government and laissez-faire economics.
