Includes: five embroidered patches (United States Third Army, Utica College Syracuse University, National Rifle Association Junior Member 1943, two others); a Brass Name Tag (inscribed "First Bass", with a paper ribbon inscribed "Five City Concert / Troy, N.Y. / Germania Hall / April 14, 1956"); a 1940 Republican Nominee for President Wendell Willkie enameled lapel pin; and one hundred and one Buttons (four of which have ribbons attached, featuring various political campaign, candidate and Presidential Buttons, e.g. Coolidge and Dawes, Dewey, Harding, Landon and Knox, Lapalme, Lehman, Franklin D. Roosevelt (many), Theodore Roosevelt, Taft and Sherman, Wallace and Taylor, Willkie (many); military heroes (Admiral George Dewey, General Douglas MacArthur); Liberty Loan (four); two ships (United States Warship Atlanta, U.S.S. Airplane Carrier Saratoga); eleven Allied Country Flag Buttons (Argentina, Armenia, Canada, Chile, China, Congo, Cuba, Ecuador, Hungary, Great Britain, Mexico); one with a mirror embedded on the reverse (Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, Quebec); along with various festivals, military, personal, religious, travel, schools, service organizations, unions, and other subject matter represented). This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
