A large print featuring noted Polish-American artist and caricaturist Arthur Szyk’s “Il Duce…”, originally published in 1942 in Esquire magazine, presented on off-white paper stock, featuring a full-colour caricature of a weary Benito Mussolini being led in chains by a corpulent and decoration-clad Hermann Göring, with Japanese with Japanese Prime Minister Hideki Tojo smiling on from the rear, all supervised by a personification of death direct the trio to oblivion, flanked by Syzk’s facsimile signature situated above a date of “1942”, in turn situated by a small typewritten title with artist attribution, set within a period dark brown wooden frame with an intact glass face, the reverse topped by a serrated magnetic metal loop for suspension, measuring 42 cm (w) x 26.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor discolouration throughout the print consistent with age and storage conditions, in overall near extremely fine condition.
