(Instituted July 19th, 1942). Constructed of bronze in the shape of a five-pointed star, on a fixed rectangular suspension from its ribbon with a functional horizontal pinback assembly, the obverse with a smaller central silver five-pointed star surrounded by sun rays, within a laurel wreath, the reverse inscribed “For Gallantry in Action” in capital letters, and named “Albert B. Rickert” equally in capital letters, otherwise unmarked, measuring 36.0 mm (w) x 45.5 mm (l), weighing 18.51 grams, accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden frame with a textured black faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid embossed with “Silver Star” in capital letters as well as dual borders of golden wavy “crinkle crankle” lines on the top of the lid. The sides of the case are adorned with golden embossed lines on the top and bottom of the lid, the interior of the lid is lined in cream-coloured off-white silk, with a functional hinge assembly and intact hinge cover, with a felted medal bed with the addition of a horizontal pinback medal bar and a multi-coloured enameled boutonniere, measuring 90 mm (w) x 168 mm (l), in near extremely fine condition.
