Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a lightly textured green faux leather exterior, the interior of the lid lined with a cotton-silk blended fabric, with a functional exterior metal hinge, intact interior fabric hinge cover, and functional push-button closure, with a recessed green felt medal bed for secure placement of the table medal, measuring 98 mm (w) x 96 mm (l), in better than very fine condition.
Footnote: The table medal commemorates the world’s first solo non-stop flight from New York City to Paris, undertaken by Charles Lindbergh taking him nearly 34 hours between May 20th-21st, 1927. It became known as one of the most consequential flights in history and ushered in a new era of air transportation. The banquet held at the Garden Court of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco honoured Colonel Charles Lindbergh on 16.09.1927 for his solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean, attended by the Mayor of San Francisco, James Rolph, and Chairman of the Mayor’s Citizens Committee, Jesse C. Colman.
