Footnote: Joan Evelyn Reece served as a member of the Women's Royal Naval Service, becoming a second officer in April 1943. Service number 313253. Awarded the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve Badge in 1944, she was Gazetted for the award in May of that year.
