This is a very well-preserved biography of Major General Hector A. MacDonald, but David Campbell. It is constructed of a heavy card stock binding, with the exterior cover bearing a black-and-white photograph of MacDonald, circumscribed by author and title. The interior content consists of 144 off-white paper pages featuring a detail biography of MacDonald’s military career, particularly emphasizing his action in the Afghan and African campaigns of the late 19th century. It was published in 1899 by Hood, Douglas & Howard of London. The book measures 125 mm (w) x 186 mm (h). Minor material fatigue is evident, but it is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
