1. "British Battles and Medals" by Major Lawrence L. Gordon: hardcover, navy blue dimpled cloth cover, image of the India Medal in crimson, green and silver-coloured inks on the cover, the text on the spine in silver-coloured ink, printed and published by Gale and Polden Limited, at The Wellington Press, Aldershot in 1947. A statement on the title page describes the basic contents of the book: "A description of every campaign medal and bar awarded from the Armada 1588, to the India Service Medal 1946, together with the names of all the regiments, ships, and squadrons of the Royal Air Force entitled to them."
2. "The Medals Decorations and Orders of the Great War 1914-1918" by Alec A. Purves, Fellow of the Royal Numismatic Society, President of the Order and Medals Research Society 1956-60: hardcover, steel blue cloth cover, the text on the spine in gold-coloured ink, with dust jacket, copyrighted by the author in 1973, first published in J.B. Hayward & Son of London in 1973, designed and printed in England by Robert Stockwell Limited of London.
