Instituted on August 8, 1902. Type I (1902-1920). In silver gilt, a round medal with exterior wreath, the obverse medallion featuring the monogram GRV in blue enamels, encircled by the inscription FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE, a crown at 12 o’clock, the reverse is plain, measures 40.2mm (w) x 54.7mm (h), weighs 42.3 grams (including ribbon), worn on a bow ribbon with pin on reverse, light wear, intact enamels, very dark patina, remains in very fine condition.
Accompanied by the ISO document awarding Miss Frances Georgina Billings, dated November 1911, measured 193mm (w) x 243mm (l), heavily creased, light wear, remains in very fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, in black leatherette, lid impressed IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL, the interior presents a deep red silk lid marked ELKINGTON & Co. and red velvet recessed medal bed, measures 120mm (w) x 115mm (h) x 19mm (d), hinge and catch functional, remains in very fine condition.
