Description

Instituted in 1908. In silver and silver gilt, skeletal oval topped by crown, the obverse bearing the Royal monogram of King Edward VII, reverse marked SG as well as i (1904), lion (London), and uncrowned leopard (London, 1821-), reverse suspension loop marked lion, original ribbon, 48.5 mm (h) x 36.4 mm (w), extremely fine. In a hard-shelled case, white satin lined on the inside lid, purple velvet medal bed, marked Garrard & Co, extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The Territorial Decoration was instituted on 29 September 1908 and was awarded for a minimum of 20 years commissioned service, with service in the ranks counting half and war service counting double.
