In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Instituted March 19, 1881. In silver, full size, rim engraved 1020 PTE E. KIMBER 2/8TH REGT. with PEIWAR KOTAL clasp, light edge knocks and contact marks, bright, remains extremely fine.
Footnote: The 2nd Battalion of the 8th Regiment of Foot (later the King’s Regiment) served with distinction during the Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878–1880). Deployed to reinforce British forces advancing into Afghanistan, the battalion took part in key engagements such as Peiwar Kotal and Ali Musjid, and later in operations around Kabul and the southern campaign at Ahmed Khel and Kandahar. Soldiers endured harsh mountain terrain, extreme weather, and the threat of disease, often marching long distances under fire. Their service, recognized by the Afghanistan Medal with campaign clasps, reflected the challenges of imperial warfare on the difficult North-West Frontier and the vital role of disciplined infantry in securing British objectives during the conflict.
