An Army Meritorious Service Medal, obverse with King Edward VII Effigy, in silver, rim “3575 S.O.M. SJT: A. E. BELLINGER. A.O.C.”, worn on replacement ribbon, light wear and a few scratches to obverse, lovely patina, in near extremely fine condition.
A Queen’s South Africa Medal, in silver, rim engraved “3575. Corpl. A.E. BELLINGER. A.O.C”, worn on replacement ribbon with TRANSVAAL and NATAL clasps, small edge knocks, light wear with some scratches to the obverse, extremely fine.
A King’s South Africa Medal, in silver, rim impressed “3575 CORPL. A.E. BELLINGER. A.O.C.”, worn on replacement ribbon with SOUTH AFRICA 1902 and SOUTH AFRICA 1901, small edge knocks, light wear, notable scratches to the obverse, in very fine condition.
A British War Medal, in silver, rim impressed “S-3575 W.O CL. I. A.E. BELLINGER. A.O.C”, worn on original ribbon, minor wear, in extremely fine condition.
A First War Victory Medal, in bronze, rim impressed “S-3575 W.O. CLI. A.E. BELLINGER. A.O.C”, worn on replacement ribbon, light gilt wear, in very fine condition.
A 1914-15 Star, in bronze, reverse impressed “S-3575, CONDR. A.E. BELLINGER. A.S.C.” worn on replacement ribbon, light wear, remains in very fine condition.
Footnote: Andrew Ernest Bellinger is on the medal roll for the Army Ordnance Corps for the Queen’s South Africa Campaign Medal, and the King’s South Africa Medal.
During the First World War, Bellinger served with the Army Ordnance Corps in the Balkans. He was mentioned in despatches in the London gazette of January 28, 1916 and June 14, 1918. He died on August 11, 1919, leaving his wife M.B. Helen Bellinger to claim his effects and credits.
