United Kingdom. 1914-15 Star (4945 L. SJT J. PEACOCK. S.GDS:); British War Medal (4945 SJT. J PEACOCK S GDS.); British Victory Medal (4945 SGT. J. PEACOCK S.GDS.). Naming officially impressed, slight surface wear and edge bruises, dark patinas, all nearly extremely fine condition; Memorial Plaque (JAMES PEACOCK) naming in raised letters, bronze, 120mm, very fine condition; Royal Scots Cap Badge (Royal Regiment O/Rs Kilmarnock & Glengarry), two-piece construction, bronze gilt insignia, mounted to a white metal base, unmarked, 53.8 mm x 60.7 mm, both lugs intact but bent flesh with metal base, slightly bent, fine condition. Accompanied by replacement ribbons for all medals; Original notice for 1914-15 Star from Record Office, dated January 7, 1920; Original notice of memorial from Buckingham Palace; Original packaging and envelopes for two medals and plaque, addressed to Mrs M Peacock, 1633 Merrick Ave Detroit Michigan and Mrs R. Armour 473 Merrick Ave Detroit Michigan.

Footnote: James Peacock was born around 1883 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. He fought with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Scots Guards, serving in France and Flanders. He was killed in action on September 27, 1915, possibly during the Battle of the Loos, which the Royal Scots were heavily involved in. His medals and memorial plaque were all sent to his wife, Mary Muir Peacock (later Mary Armour) in Detroit Michigan.
