Footnote: Private Leslie Hamilton served with Princess Louiises’s Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in France as of May 1, 1915. He enlisted with the army on May 14, 1913 at Paisley.

Hamilton served in France from May 1915 to November 1917; Italy from November 1917 to March 1918; and France from March 1918 to February 1919. He suffered deafness in the left ear due to shell fire in October 1917.

He was demobilized and returned to the UK in 1919.
