An embossed brass box featuring the left facing profile of Princess Mary, dated ‘CHRISTMAS 1914”, measures 131 mm (w) x 88 mm (h) x 32 mm (h), light wear, hinge functional with seal around the lid crisp. The box contains:
Her Royal Highness the Princess Mary’s Christmas Fund 1914 Tobacco, one ounce, unopened.;
Her Royal Highness the Princess Mary’s Christmas Fund 1914 Cigarettes, comprising 12 original cigarettes in the open packaging;
A bullet shell pencil, engraved with a crowned M, based marked VI KN 14, pencil end is wrapped in silver (marked STERLING SILVER), retaining led;
Accompanied by the original “With Best Wishes for a happy Christmas and a Victorious New Year from The Princess Mary and friends at home” paper card; a black and white photo of Princess Mary; 1914 card and original envelope (slightly ripped).
A rare complete set, remaining in very fine condition.
