Institution Date: November 23, 1842. A Ghuznee 1839 Medal, named to W.M Allright, 17th Regiment, with the naming privately engraved in small italic script as well as small block capitals in the reverse field, with light contact, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Ghuznee Medal was established by General Order in 1842. The Medal was awarded to British and Indian Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and enlisted men who participated in the Battle of Ghazni on July 23, 1839.
