Large NSDAP Golden Party Badge in gilded bronze and enamels, measuring 30.48mm, numbered “89741”, marked “Ges.Gesch.”, maker marked Deschler, minor contact to enamel, very fine. Small Golden Party Badge in gilded bronze and enamels, measuring 24.13 mm, numbered “89741”, marked “Ges.Gesch.”, slight enamel loss, very fine. Additionally included, an original questionnaire (4 pages, 209x295mm, very fine with folding creases, scuffing, minor tears, and two punched holes) by the Lower Saxonian Minister for De-Nazification, Hanover. The document is dated to Hanover on January 11, 1949.
Footnote: Theodor Beister was born on June 17, 1907 in Berlin. He joined the NSDAP in June of 1928. The highest rank in the organisation that he reached was Ortsgruppenleiter (Local Group Leader). Between 1928 and 1932 Beister was also a member of the SA. In 1940 Beister joined the Wehrmacht, specifically the Heer (Army) branch. At the end of the war he was an NCO of the Artillery. After being released from US war captivity back to Germany, Beister was sentenced to 4 months in prison in 1948 for having been part of the Führer Corps of the NSDAP. Beister was awarded an Eastern Front Medal and a Wound Badge in 1942, and a War Merit Badge 2nd Class with Swords in 1944.
