Description

(Mecidi Nisani). Instituted late 1851. In silver with red enamels, a silver seven-pointed star, each of the arms with three faceted rays, with a crescent moon and star in between each arm; the observe centerpiece in 18K Gold shows the Sultan Abdul Mejid’s royal cypher surrounded by an inscription, the reverse presents a nickel silver backplate, inclusive of gilt and enamel crescent suspension connected by wire (the original integral suspension has broken off), measures 58.5 mm (w) x 74.6 mm (h), the ribbon has been fitted for an Austrian recipient and bears the rosette denoting IV Class, better than very fine.
