A grouping of four third reich German awards and insignia, consisting of:
1. A textbook example of a Silver Grade Infantry Assault Badge by Friedrich Linden of Lüdenscheid. (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber). Silver Grade instituted on December 20th 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a slightly vaulted oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse plain with the unusual crimped hinge and catch signature to manufacture by Friedrich Linden of Lüdenscheid, also marked “FLL” for this manufacturer, measuring 47.5 mm (w) x 63.2 mm (l), weighing 31.27 grams, with the silver finish extremely well preserved for an award by this maker, in overall better than very fine condition.
2. A Bronze Grade Infantry Assault Badge by Josef Feix und Söhne from Gablonz an der Neiße. (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Bronze). Bronze Grade instituted on June 1st 1940. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze-finished zink, the obverse consisting of an aggressively vaulted oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse plain with a crimped ball hinge and broad catch with a vertical pinback assembly, marked “JFS” on the reverse denoting manufacture by “Josef Feix und Söhne, Gablonz an der Neiße”, measuring 48.2 mm (w) x 61.4 mm (l), weighing 26.29 grams, with the bronze finish nearly fully intact, in extremely fine condition.
3. A Bronze Grade DRL Badge (Deutsche Reichsauszeichnung für Leibesübungen in Bronze). Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika around central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and a vertical pinback meeting a broad bronzen vertical catch, marked “Wernstein, Jena” as well as “ D.R.G.M 35269” on the reverse, measuring 38.6 mm (w) x 38.6 mm (l), weighing 17.87 grams, in better than very fine condition.
4. A National Socialist War Victims Care leader’s cap badge (Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung), constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of a German national eagle with open wings and a NSKOV logo on its breast and with “NSKOV” on the bottom, the reverse plain, with a vertical pinback, marked “RZM M1/52” for manufacture by Deschler & Sohn of München, measuring 49.8 mm (w) x 47.4 mm (l), in overall near very fine condition.
