Thailand, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown of Thailand, Special Grade Grand Cordon Set, with Diamonds, c.1950

Instituted December 29 1869. A Special Grade of the Order of the Crown of Thailand, the sash badge, in silver, silver gilt and enamels, with surmounting Thai crown, the reverse is plain, measures 57.95 mm (w) x 91.15 mm (h), weighs 48.23 grams, heavy loss of gilt on obverse and reverse, intact enamels, in very fine condition. 

The Breast Star, in silver, silver gilt and 23 natural diamonds in the center obverse medallion, reverse offering a single vertical pin, measures 90.9 mm (w) x 91.0 mm (h), weighs 89.63 grams, notable loss of gilt, enamels intact, remains in very fine condition. 

Accompanied by a full length Grand Cross Special Grade sash, in red, blue and white silk. 

Contained in a blue velvet case with Thai symbol on the obverse, removable velvet medal bed with sash storage compartment below, the interior lid marked with Thai maker details, measures 185 mm (w) x 160 mm (l) x 80 mm (d), areas of wear to velvet on the exterior, button release quite stiff, light wear throughout, very fine.
