(Khrueang Ratcha-itsariyaphon An Mi Kiattiyot Ying Mongkut Thai). Instituted December 29th, 1869. (Second Pattern - c. 1940 issue). A cased Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand, II. Class Grand Officer Set, consisting of:
1. A breast star, crafted of silver, consisting of an eight-armed star with scaled surfaces with three diamond shaped laurels in each quadrant, the obverse centre presenting a silver gilt Thai Crown on blue enameled background and red enameled surround, the reverse plain, with a raised barrel hinge, vertical pinback, and broad wire catch, hallmarked and maker marked but illegible, measuring 77.8 mm (w) x 77.4 mm (l), weighing 65.03 grams.
2. A neck badge, crafted of silver, consisting of an eight-armed star with scaled surfaces with three diamond shaped laurels in each quadrant, the obverse centre presenting a silver gilt Thai Crown on blue enameled background and red enameled surround, the reverse with a blue enameled central medallion with Thai script and stylized red enameled surround, suspension consisting of a elongated and ornate Thai crown in hallow silver gilt, hallmarked and maker marked but illegible, measuring 53.8 mm (w) x 58.1 mm (l), weighing 38.44 grams.
3. Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a royal blue felt exterior, the exterior of the lid with a gilt Thai insignia, the interior of the lid with a silk liner bearing the name of the award and the Royal Seal in gilt, with a creamy off-white recessed felt medal bed for secure placement of the awards, with functional dual exterior metal hinges, intact interior hinge cover, and functional clasp closure, measuring 170 mm (w) x 137 mm (l).
With patina on the awards from age and wear, and with the enamels well preserved and of fine craftsmanship, in overall near extremely fine condition.
