Sweden, Kingdom. An Order Of Vasa In Gold, I Class Knight, By C. F. Carlman, C.1900

(Kungliga Vasaorden). Instituted on 26 May 1772 by King Gustav III. (Issued 1772-1975). Of superb quality and craftsmanship, consisting of a white enameled Gold Maltese cross with ball finials, with a Gold crown of Sweden in each quadrant, obverse roundel is charged with a vase and a sheaf encircled by a red enameled band featuring the inscription “GUSTAF DEN III INST. MDCCLXXII” (“INSTITUTED BY GUSTAV III MDCCLXXII”), with mirrored reverse roundel, adorned by a Gold Crown of Sweden with enameled jewels and details, well marked on 6 o'clock arm with markers mark CFC denoting C.F. Carlman, Stockholm, Gold hallmarked 18k, as well as national mark of tricrona, measuring 39.86 mm (w) x 61.36 mm (h - inclusive of crown), 18.3 grams inclusive of ribbon, mint condition. Accompanied by miniature Gold award on rosette, with fine enameled details, measuring 14 mm in diameter, extremely fine. Contained in original hardshell case of issue, maker marked “C.F. Carlman Stockholm Kungl Hof & Ordensjuvelerare” on the inside lid, with raised platform with recessed medal bed, label affixed to the bottom inscribed R1 V.O.,” and in very fine condition.
