Constructed of a gilded silver alloy with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a vaulted eight-pointed pebbled star, overlaid by a Latin Cross with white enameled arms situated within a gilded frame, overlaid by a central medallion bearing the coats of arms of Castile and León in multi-coloured enamels with gilt, topped by a gilded bar and crown, with additional silvered coats of arms of Castile and León affixed to the star between the quadrants of each arm, the reverse with six visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, with a raised barrel hinge and flattened pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 59.62 mm (w) x 59.41 mm (h), weighing 44.4 grams, demonstrating some flecking to the enamels, a German-made example of superior quality and composition, intended for issue to Condor Legion personnel holding the rank of General, demonstrating fine cracking and flecking to the enamels, in better than very fine condition.
