Spain, Spanish State. A Boxed Spanish-Made Medal of the Russian Campaign by Diez Y. Compañia

(Medalla de la Compañia de Rusia). Established November 9th 1943. (1943-1944 Issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with black paint, on a single fixed loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a classic Spanish-style buckle and horizontal pinback, the obverse consists of a Spanish national eagle, overlaid by a central 1939 Iron Cross, overlaying a circular laurel leaf wreath topped by a crown, the reverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a depiction of the Novgorod Kremlin above an inscription of “RUSIA 1941”, measuring 36.7 mm (w) x 51.3 mm (l) including its fixed loop for suspension, weighing 17.59 grams (inclusive of ribbon). Accompanied by its cardstock box of issue, with “Medalla de Tropa - Donativo Del Ministerio - Del Ejercito” and maker marked “Diez Y. Compañia - S.A. Madrid” printed in blue lettering on the box, measuring approximately 90 mm (w) x 46 mm (l), an example of a Spanish made award, unissued in overall near mint condition.
