Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Isabella the Catholic, Commander, by Ceualvo

(Orden de Isabel la Católica). Instituted 24.3.1815. (1938-1975 issue). Type IV. A ball-tipped enameled red four armed cross in silver, featuring multiple delicate rays in each quadrant, suspended by a green enameled laurel wreath with long vertical loop, the obverse center displaying an enameled hand-painted Order’s insignia, surrounded by the inscription”A La Lealtad Acrisolada” (To Pure Loyalty) in capital lettering on an enameled white border, the reverse center presenting the Franco era crowned cipher on an enameled blue background, encircled by the inscription “Por Isabel La Catolica” (For Isabel the Catholic) with a white enameled border, marked “Ceualvo”, “55M” and silver hallmarked, accompanied by its period original replacement ribbon, measuring 56.6 mm (w) x 56.7 mm (l) not including its laurel suspension, weighing 46.37 grams, the enamels chipped on the obverse of the laurel leaf suspension but otherwise well preserved, in overall extremely fine condition.
