Spain, Kingdom. A Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, c.1935

(Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes). A neck badge multi-piece construction, in silver gilt with blue and white enamels, along with twenty-four synthetic green stones, reverse plain, measuring 51.8 mm (w) x 69.6 mm (h - inclusive of surmounting crown), one stone along the top right side of the wreath is missing, light wear, intact enamels, in near extremely fine condition. 

Contained in his wooden case of issue, a red stained exterior which lifts into the presentation case raising the velvet base, the interior silk lid marked “Saturnino Monthao Joeria y Plateria El Ferrol”, measures 80.7 mm (w) x 98.6 mm (l) x 30.6 mm (d), clasp and hinge functional, light wear, very fine.
