1. A Spanish War Cross (Cruz de Guerra). Instituted March 29th, 1938. Constructed of silvered and gilded bronze, consisting of an eight-pointed base with multi-faceted surfaces in silver, the obverse with a four armed cross with a laurel wreath and crossed swords in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, with a central insignia constructed of bronze gilt with red, white, and blue enamels with the four arms of the cross bearing the Franco crown, two facing lions, and a castle, the reverse plain with a raised barrel hinge, vertical round wire pinback, rightward opening round wire catch and dual downward-pointing stabilizing bars for secure attachment to a uniform, measuring 60.3 mm (w) x 61.1 mm (l).
2. A Spanish Military Order of San Hermenegildo (Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo). Instituted November 28th, 1814. Constructed of silver, gilded silver, and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a gilded Maltese Cross with ball finials with three multi-faceted rays in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, obverse centre in silver gilt depicting a superposed silver-gilded figure of St. Hermenegildo on a light-blue-enamelled medallion, surrounded white-enamelled border with the inscription “Premio a la Constancia Militar” (Award for Military Constancy), with surrounded green-enamelled laurel wreath in silver gilt, reverse with an integral hinge, vertical round wire pinback, rightward-opening round wire catch, as well as dual stays, unmarked, measuring 54.4 mm (w) x 54.0 mm (l).
A fine grouping of two Spanish awards, in overall near very fine condition.
