A unique and elaborate trench art photo frame, constructed of a captured brass shell, consisting of a stand topped by a linden leaf branch and stylized linden leaf bearing an etched inscription of “KRYM (CRIMEA) 19. III. 43”, accommodating an integrated frame retaining an original custom-cut glass face and with reverse clips, the frame measuring 140 mm (w) x 120 mm (h) overall, secured within the frame is a black-and-white photo depicting a member of the Slovak Expeditionary Army Group, measuring 56 mm (w) x 82 mm (h), with a handwritten date of “43” on the reverse, fully unmarked, this personalized example of Eastern Front trench art is in an overall extremely fine condition.
