In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
Constructed of black cotton, the obverse trimmed along both edges with a narrow machine-embroidered silver-grey tresse, bearing a central machine-embroidered silver-grey inscription of “HLINKA-GARDE”, the reverse showing a buckram underlay, unmarked, measuring 30 mm (w) x 420 mm (l), demonstrating minor material fatigue, a rare cuff title in uniform-removed and extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Hlinka Guard Assault Troops (Pohotovostné oddiely Hlinkovej gardy, POHG) were special armed units of the Hlinka Guard in the wartime Slovak State, created on 8 September 1944 following the outbreak of the Slovak National Uprising. Their main purpose was to fight insurgents and partisans alongside German forces. At their peak, the POHG included around 38 assault units, six field companies, and three field battalions, comprising more than 5,000 men. Closely cooperating with German security forces, they participated in anti-partisan operations and were responsible for numerous atrocities against civilians and Jews. After the war, several members of the POHG were sentenced to death, including commanders Otomar Kubala and Jozef Gašparík, while many others were sentenced to lengthy terms in prison.
