In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A unique and well-preserved Slovakian Fire Brigade personnel helmet, consisting of a two-piece shell with a boiled black leather crown affixed to a blackened magnetic metal outer rim comprising the lower third of the helmet. A blackened and raised magnetic metal comb is affixed to the crown, while a red leather strap fully surrounds the helmet at the point where the leather and metal shell components meet. Pinned onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a central multi-coloured enameled Slovak coat of arms, within a bronze rope wreath, and on top of crossed axes and a ladder. Protruding magnetic metal side rivets secure in place a period original one-piece black leather chinstrap, which rests upon the front of the helmet when not in use. A black leather liner occupied the lower portion of the interior, and features ten fingers, each of which are perforated with eyelets at the top. A period original drawstring is looped through the eyelets for a secure fit. The helmet is fully unmarked and measures 200 mm (w) x 235 mm (l) x 170 mm (h). Issues consistent with age and use are evident, and include material fatigue to the leather elements and some loss of finish. It is in an overall very fine condition.
Shipping Footnote: Please note there may be an additional shipping charge associated with this item.
