(Orden Svetog Save). Instituted in 1883. Type II (1903-1922). In silver gilt, a lovely grand cross badge in a white and blue enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, double headed crowned eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features St. Sava in red robes, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed троvломb сконмb вbса прнобрвте (One’s Own Work Achieves All), the reverse medallion presents the years 1883, the badge is surmounted by a large crown, marked on ring with A denoting Vienna manufacture, maker mark GAS for G.A Scheid and silver fineness mark denoting Austro-Hungarian manufacture between 1872-1922 in Vienna, measures 50.40mm (w) x 81.45mm (h – including crown), weighs 42.4 grams, enamels intact, scattered gilt wear, an early decoration in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by a full-length sash with large rosette, slightly faded and creased but remains in very fine condition.
The Star of the Order, an eight point silver star with clusters of faceted rays, the obverse medallion presents a white and blue enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, double headed crowned eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features St. Sava in red robes, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed троvломb сконмb вbса прнобрвте (One’s Own Work Achieves All), the reverse features a single pin assembly with four rivets and reinforced tips, the pin is marked G.A. SCHIED, and A denoting Viennese manufacture, measures 81.2mm (w) x 83.15mm (h), weighs 57.6 grams, dark patina, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
