(Medalja za gradanske zasluge). Instituted in 1902. Hardshelled design on both the lid and base, the exterior with a white dimpled paper covering on five sides, the bottom with a pebbled black paper covering, the lid bearing the inscription "МЕДАЉА ЗА ГРАЂАНСКЕ ЗАСЛУГЕ II" in gold-coloured ink, inside lid lined in white satin, padded and maker marked "HUGUENIN FRÈRES & Co Médailleurs LE LOCLE (Suisse)" in French and Serbian, white fabric-wrapped cardboard insert placed within the base and incorporating a recessed medal bed in black felt, paper-hinged, latch closure, measuring 68 mm in width x 101.5 mm in height x 23 mm in depth, light wear and soiling evident on the exterior, very fine.
Footnote: The Medal for Civil Merit was established in 1902 and awarded to public servants for long and faithful service to the Serbian Royal household or government, and later, for service to the Allied military forces. It was available in two classes, Gold and Silver. Before the First World War, the medal manufactured in Austria, but production shifted to France during the war.
