Hardcover, with a colour image of the Military Order of St. Henry on the front cover, the text in white and light green on the front cover and spine, entitled "Die Orden des Königreichs Sachsen" (Orders of the Kingdom of Saxony), by Dieter Weber, Paul Arnold and Peter Keil, First Edition, copyrighted in 1997, phileristic monographs published by the Institute for Scientific Order Studies (Volume 2 in a series, that includes Volume 1 - Order and Honour Decorations of the Principality of Waldeck and Pyrmont by Gert Efler, and Volume 3 - Orders and Honour Decorations of the Anhalt States by Gerd Scharfebberg), published by Graf Kleman Verlags GmbH of Offenbach am Main, printed by Steinmeier of Nördlingen, ISBN 3-921566-21. This well-researched book features the various awards of the Kingdom of Saxony through the use of detailed text, all of which is in German, along with multiple colour or black and white photographs. Also included are photographs of the various award cases and their respective documents. Some of the photographs are close-ups of selected areas on the awards and associated items. The book features a portrait of King Frederick Augustus III on page 2, with other royal portraits incorporated thereafter. It begins with a Table of Contents (Inhaltsverzeichnis), followed by a Foreword (Geleitwort) and a Foreword and Thanks (Vorwort und Dank). The book contains seventeen chapters: 1. Introduction to the History of Saxon Orders (Einführung in die sächsische Ordensgeschichte); 2. The Saxon Electors and Kings 1694-1918 (Die sächsischen Kurfürsten und Könige 1694-1918); 3. The Grand Masters of the Saxon Orders (Die Großmeister der sächsischen Orden); 4. The Military Order of St. Henry in the Electoral Era (Der Militär-St. Heinrichs-Orden in der kurfürstlichen Zeit); 5. It exhibits a small tear at the junction of the spine and front cover at the top and has been tape repaired, along with pinching on the lower corners and light wear on both the front and back covers, in addition to page trimming issues on pages 33 to 48 from folding in the manufacturing process which has cut off a few page numbers, however, the remaining pages within remain pristine.
