(Ordine Civile di Savoia). Instituted October 31st, 1831. (c. 1900 issue). Constructed of 18kt Gold and fine quality manufacture enamels, consisting of a baby-blue enameled Greek Cross, the obverse with a central white enameled medallion with the monogram “CA” of Charles Albert in Gold, surrounded by a fine Golden ring, the reverse equally enameled on the arms, with a central white enameled medallion inscribed “Al Merito Civile - 1831” in golden capitalized lettering, on a swivel loop for suspension from its period-original ribbon, marked "GD" on the top the 3 o'clock arm for an unknown maker, measuring 35.4 mm (w) x 35.3 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
