San Marino, Republic. An Order of St. Agatha, Grand Cross in Case

(Ordine Equestre di Saint' Agata). Instituted in 1923. In gilded silver with enamels a white enamelled cross pattee, bearing a bust of Saint Agatha in the center on obverse, the reverse offers the San Marino Coat of Arms, measures 64.5 mm (w) x 74.5 mm (h), minor enamel wear to the edges of the arms, lovely gilt, extremely fine. 

The Breast Star of the Order, in silver gilt, an eight point star with faceted rays, the obverse medallion with a white enamel cross green wreath segments between the arms and a central medallion of St. Agatha, the reverse bears a vertical pin assembly, with S. JOHNSON MILANO ROMA makers cartouche, measures 83.9 mm (w) x 83.8 mm (h) 104.89 grams, oxidation to the tips of the rays, enamels intact, light wear, near extremely fine. 

Contained in the case of issue, red exterior, with white silk lid marked JOHNSON, base medal bed, measures 170 mm (w) x 310 mm (h) x 50 mm (d), remains very fine. Accompanied by a miniature of the order.
