Description

Constructed of a silver alloy with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a five-pointed star with red enameled arms, with stylized rays emanating through the background, with a crossed sabre and Mosin-Nagant rifle piercing the centrepiece, bearing a central raised sickle and hammer, situated within a white enameled ring bearing an inscription of “ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА” (“PATRIOTIC WAR”), the reverse with a central threaded screw post retaining an original backplate, maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the State Mint, and engraved with an award number of “961565”, in extremely fine condition, accompanied by an award booklet, featuring a recipient photograph, handwritten name of “ИВАН МИХАЙЛОВИЧ ШПАК” (“IVAN MIKHAILOVICH SHPAK”), and matching award entry, measuring 75 mm (w) x 110 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
