A silver medal portraying a five point star with smooth rays, the central medallion features a silver gilt medallion with red enamel on each side with Russian and Chinese iconography, with a central handshake and Chinese script, the reverse presents Chinese inscription and the impressed number 227, measures 38.65mm (w) x 39.45mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 17.5 grams (including ribbon), worn on original red ribbon with yellow central detailing, brooch pinback on reverse, dark patina, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Contained in original case of issue featuring burgundy velvet exterior with bright teal silk interior and recessed medalbed, measures 65mm (w) x 105mm (l) x 24mm (d), hinge and clasp functional, minimal wear, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by the award certification, a red silk booklet with text in both Cyrillic and Chinese. The Chinese states “In Order of commend your outstanding achievement during your work in China-Suzhou Civil Aviation Joint Stock Company, the Civil Aviation Administration of the People’s Republic of China hereby presents you the “Sino-Suzhou Civil Aviation Company” Commemorative Medal. The Medal Number is 227. Dated December 31 1954.” The Cyrillic reads “Noting your outstanding achievements in the work of the Soviet-Chinese Joint Stock Company of Civil Aviation, the Administration of the Civil Air Fleet of the People’s Republic of China Awards you with the SKOGA Medal”. While closed, measures 115mm (w) x 77mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
