An Order of the Red Star, Type II, constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of a five-pointed star, the obverse with red enameled arms, bearing a central medallion overlaid by a Red Army soldier in full uniform and clutching a rifle, surrounded by a border bearing a raised Russian Cyrillic inscription of “ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!” (“WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!”), joined together at the bottom by initials “СССР” (“USSR”), situated above a hammer and sickle the reverse with a central threaded lug retaining an original backplate, etched with an issue number that appears to read “928862”, maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the State Mint, measuring 49.76 mm (w) x 47.78 mm (h), weighing 43.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
