Орден Святого Станислава. 3-й степени). Instituted 8 May 1765 by Stanisław II August of Poland; incorporated into Russian orders 1831 by Tsar Nicholas I. (1831-1917 issue; c. 1922 émigrée reissue). Constructed of a gilded alloy with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with red enameled arms completing in ball finials and ribbed fans, the obverse overlaid across all quadrants with double-headed Russian imperial eagles, with a pair of crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, both the obverse and reverse bearing central white enameled medallions overlaid by a hand-painted monograms of St. Stanislaus, each situated within a gilt ring bearing green enameled laurel leaves, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an eyelet and suspension ring, unmarked, measuring 37.64 mm (w) x 41.62 mm (h), weighing 16.5 grams, an early French-made example intended for issue to a member of the White émigre community c. 1922, demonstrating commensurate quality of construction, in extremely fine condition.
