Russia, Imperial. A St. George Cross, IV Class, to Ivan Savotsyanov, 39th Don Cossack Regiment

(Георгиевский крест 4-й степени). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, the reverse bearing a central Cyrillic monogram of St. George (СГ/SG), the six o’clock arm bearing a grade of “4 СТЕП” (“IV CLASS”), the three and nine o’clock arms bearing an award number of  “454824”, measures 35.4  mm (w) x 41.0 mm (h), weighs 10.5 grams, minor wear and contact marks, missing ribbon, very fine.
