Black and white, matte finish, on a thin white paper stock. First photo illustrates a group of nine soldiers positioned around two artillery field guns, seven are standing, one of which is holding an artillery shell, an eighth soldier is leaning against a rock at the far left, while the other is seated upon one of the guns, wooded setting in the background, 125 mm x 176 mm, torn corner at the lower right. Second photo illustrates a group of nine soldiers, eight of which are positioned behind an artillery field gun, of which six are standing and two are kneeling, the artillery field gun placed upon a wooden brace which is balanced on a dirt mound, the other soldier at the far right raising his right arm and holding his field cap in his right hand, 118 mm x 178 mm. Third photo illustrates a group of three soldiers with a horse hiding in the brush at the far left, an open field in front of them, one soldier standing and holding the horse by the reins, a second soldier squatting and writing in a notebook, while a third soldier is standing and leaning forward with a rifle in his right hand, 118 mm x 178 mm.
