In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
"RSR". (1966-1989 Issue) In silver with orange enamels, measuring 62.5 mm x 59.5 mm, horizontal pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania has a long history, being founded originally as a royal order on May 10, 1877, one of the first acts of the newly independent Romanian principality, to reward outstanding military and civil service to the state. After the Second World War, the new Communist regime instituted its successor in 1948 as the Order of the Star of the Romanian People's Republic, the country’s most senior decoration, as a political award for public servants, diplomats, members of the ruling party and social and cultural personalities for achievements in establishing close relations with Romania’s Communist allies. The name of the Order was changed in 1966 to the Order of the Star of the Romanian Socialist Republic, following the change of name of the Republic soon after the accession to power of Nicolae Ceauşescu. A new version of the Order (as the Order of the Star of Romania) was established in 1990 after the overthrow of the Communist regime.
