Description

(Ordinul Steaua României). Instituted on 10 May 18778 by Prince Carol I. Type II. (1932-1947 Issue). A Grand Officer’s neck badge, in silver gilt, presenting a blue enamelled Romanian cross with an eagle with outspread wings in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presents the cypher of Carol I on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled laurel wreath, the reverse medallion presents the year 1877 on the red enamelled field, surmounted by a large crown, measuring 50.4 mm (w) x 69.93 (h – inclusive of attached crown), weighs 48.2 grams, correct replacement ribbon, remains in extremely fine condition.
