(Ordin "Corona Romaniei"). Instituted in 1881. Type I (1881-1941). In silver gilt and enamels, a red and white Maltese cross, cyphers of Carol in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring a superimposed crown, the reverse 10.MAIU, measures 60.07 mm (w) x 61.4 mm (h), unmarked, enamels intact, accompanied by replacement ribbon, medallions slightly loose, remains in extremely fine condition.
Contained in the original case of issue, a blue leatherette exterior, interior marked Arthus Bertrand & Cie, black velvet medal bed, measures 84 mm (w) x 144 mm (l), exterior edges have been wrapped in a tape which has dried and cracked, functional clasp and hinge, near very fine condition.
