Instituted in 1900. Constructed of silver gilt and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a five-pointed white and green enamelled Maltese star with ball finials and with multiple rays protruding from the center of the award between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a central medallion bearing an ornate crown in a field of light-blue enamels, surrounded by a ring decorated with a green enamelled laurel and oak wreath, the reverse with a large light blue enamelled central medallion depicting a sun bearing a face with multiple rays of sunshine emanating from the center, suspended from a green enamelled oval swivel wreath of laurel and oak leaves with a pierced ball and swivel ring for suspension, marked on the suspension ring denoting AB & Cie (Arthus Bertrand), measuring 45.3 mm (w) x 64.9 mm (h- inclusive of wreath suspension), weighs 24.91 grams, worn on a replacement similar ribbon, small enamel chips and wear, remains in very fine condition.
