Description

Instituted January 4, 1862. Civil Division. In silver gilt, a green enamelled seven point star with ball finials and three small silver faceted rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion with a red enamelled field with a central Arabic inscription (ABDULAZIZ HAN EL MUSTENID BITTEVFIKAT EL RABBANIYE MELIK UL DEVLETUL OSAMIYE) with a crescent moon along the bottom, the reverse medallion bears two drums with flags and the inscription SENE 699, surmounted by a crescent moon and five point star suspension, measures 62.6mm (w) x 98.15mm (h - inclusive of suspension and entire loop), weighs 50.7 grams, worn on original red and green silk neck ribbon, enamels intact, light gilt wear, a beautiful decoration in extremely fine condition.
