Norway, Kingdom. An Order of St. Olav, Knight by J. Tostrup, in Case

 (Den Kongelige Norske Sankt Olavs Orden). Instituted in 1847. In silver, comprising a Maltese cross of white enamel arms with ball finials, a crowned O monogram in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring a rampant lion on a red enamelled field, the reverse medallion presents the inscription RET OG SANDHED, the cross is surmounted by a crown with small enamel details, measures 41.9 mm (w) x 68.0 mm (h), weighs 20.6 grams, worn on original ribbon, minor loss of enamel in the crowns, areas of silver finish loss, in extremely fine condition. 

Contained in the original case of issue, brown leatherette exterior, interior marked J. TOSTRUP KRISTIANIA., dark red velvet medal bed, measures 66 mm (w) x 95 mm (h) x 25mm (d), light wear to exterior, functional clasp and catch, in very fine condition.
