Luxembourg, Duchy. An Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Grand Officer Set

(Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg). Instituted in 1961. A Grand Officer set, comprising a neck badge in silver gilt with red, white, and blue enamels, measures 52 mm (w) x 56.4 mm (h), worn on a neck badge, large enamel chip to the obverse 6 o’clock arm, otherwise near very fine. The star of the order, in silver, a twelve pointed star with a superimposed silver gilt, with white, red, and blue enamelled cross, the reverse offers a vertical pin with dual stays, maker mark on the pin, measures 83.8 mm (w) x 83.8 mm (h), enamels intact, in near mint condition. Accompanied by the boutonniere of the Grand Officer.

Contained in a red leatherette case of issue, with white silk lid and velvet base, measures 130 mm (w) x 250 mm (h) x 50 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, light contact marks and tape residue to the exterior, extremely fine.
