(Wisam Al Ordani Al Istiklal). Instituted 1921 by Hussein Bin Ali. A Grand Officer Set, consisting of a neck badge, in silver and silver gilt, featuring a ten point star with clusters of faceted rays, with a white enamelled five point star with segments of gilt wreath in each quadrant, the center of the star bears the Arabic inscription translating to “El Hussein Bin Ali”, suspended by a gilt wreath with a wreath segment in the center, reverse plain, measures 42.0 mm (w) x 65.10 mm (w), worn on a full length neck ribbon, in near mint condition.
The Star of the Order, in silver and silver gilt, featuring a ten point star with clusters of faceted rays, with a white enamelled five point star with segments of gilt wreath in each quadrant, the center of the star bears the Arabic inscription translating to “El Hussein Bin Ali”, the reverse presenting a single vertical pin, measures 86.54 mm (w) x 91.30 mm (h), enamels intact, near mint condition.
Accompanied by the miniature of the order, featuring the same insignia as the set, on ribbon with the rosette device denoting Grand Officer, additional ribbon, the Calling Card of Kin Hussein I, and the Order Identification Card.
All contained within the original case of issue, a hardshell red leatherette exterior, with the coat of arms of Jordan on the lid, the interior features a silk lining marked HUGUENIN SWITZERLAND, with a velvet recessed medalbed, functional hinge and catch, measures 165 mm (w) x 220 mm (l) x 46 mm (d), light wear to the exterior with scratches, remains in better than very fine condition.
