Japan, Empire. A Cased Order of the Sacred Treasure, III Class, c.1935

(Zuiho-Shō). Instituted January 4th, 1888. A well preserved cased example of a Japanese Imperial Order of the Sacred Treasure, 3rd. Class. Constructed of silver with white and blue enamels, along with sixteen red glass cabochons, on a loop and broad ring for suspension from a period original neck ribbon featuring a gilded clasp, measuring 52.0 mm (w) x 56.1 mm (l), with some varied hairline cracks to the white enameled surfaces of the award, in overall near very fine condition.


Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of black bakelite with a lacquered finish, the exterior of the case with Japanese script in gilt, with a functional exterior metal hinge, purple silken interior, and functional external clasp closure, measuring 80 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), , very fine.
